Elana Quihuis's Biography AKA Life Story |
Elana Quihuis has been belly dancing for over 15 years. She has
performed extensively in the greater North Bay at theater events, special
celebrations, Arabic clubs and restaurants. She has studied with many of
the best instructors in the belly dance world including Jamila and Suhaila
Salimpour, Aziza and Katarina Burda. Elana also credits her early teachers
Terri Anne Gutierrez, Ellen Cruz and Alnisa as well as the many dancers
that have inspired her along the way for helping to enliven her knowledge
and experience of belly dance. Elana has incorporated the different
flavors from these master dancers and has intergrated the variety of styles
into her own understanding and presentation of the dance. She teaches
with passion and humor while imparting a precise technique and a wealth
of information. Her dance influences range from Jazz, Afro/Brazilian to
ballet and yoga. Elana draws on her deep knowledge of dance and the
feminine soul to help weave Arabic dance & music into women’s spirits
and hearts.
